Arrived yesterday having booked standard SUV with Avis. Was expecting Ford Edge or similar but was given Mitsubishi Outlander which is fine for 4 people but a little tight for 5!

This list below is old but it'll give you some idea but basically on the Cat S cars you'll be getting a 7 seater SUV.

Avis Example:
Ford Explorer
Chevy Traverse
Toyota Highlander
GMC Acadia

RickT has put together a link (that i can see he's tagged for you) and that'll give you some more info.

I had a Ford Explorer Limited last September from the Cat S and i'd happily take one of them again.

I spotted 1 Standard in the whole row and there were probably 25+ Intermediates parked in there. Not good enough.
Makes you wonder if this is a MCO stock issue /management of the branch so staff following orders to dupp customers or a bigger alamo Corp message that they are trying to cut costs by not refreshing stock.

Regardless it should not be happening to the paying customer... Simply don't take the booking if you can't forefill the order. ..

I always thought the Durango was a higher category as I got upgraded to one last time.

Not sure on the Durango tbh - never had one as standard suv via Alamo myself but have seen threads elsewhere with people saying they had one. That said, I’ve never seen it mentioned as a full size option either - maybe a crossover or something?

Sorry to ask again but after reading comments Im unsure what to do.

If you get to the garage and there are no Standard SUV's only Intermediate what options do we have.

We have booked a Standard SUV whilst another party we are travelling with have booked an Intermediate and whilst we are none the wiser when it comes to the vehicles I will be checking the codes and will be making sure we get a Standard as we have paid more than the other party.

Has anyone had to do this?
