Getting Excited

Help...please reassure.

We normally book a dibb villa however it was too short notice this time to find one that worked for us. I booked through home away, did the house checks etc all came up fine. I have messaged the owner a couple of time recently and no reply (prior to this communication was good). I have gone on today and my booking is still there but the villa is no longer listed. I have phoned home away who put me through to the owner and she said that they have been updating the listing which is why is isn't there but will be back up soon and she hadn't seen my messages.

Has anyone had any experience of this? I am starting to feel really anxious about it and it is a non refundable property.

Thanks

There is no need to take the advert down to update it on HA as it can all be done via the HA dashboard you can edit the text, prices, calendar and photo's all while the advert is live.

HA will not refund you as the booking has not been canceled and the owner is still honouring your booking, the only way HA will refund you is if the owner cancels your booking.

What exactly is it that has you wanting to cancel the booking ? if you have spoken to the owner and they have said all is ok with the booking what is the issue.

I also would not think you will be refunded because a villa listing was temporarily suspended and the owner missed an email, it has no impact on your booking. I think you are worrying over nothing.

You spoke to the owner though, what makes you think something is wrong?

As an owner, I could choose to delist at any time from a site. Even from the dibb.
There are many reasons why I might do this.

Doesn't mean it's not genuine.

I don't think you need to worry.

Sorry, but if your going to worry this much when there doesnt seem to be an issue, then renting a villa this way isnt for you.
You have spoken to the owner, they have reassured you, HA will cover you and worst case im sure you have taken out the right travel insurance to cover villa failures.
Nothing to worry about, unless you contract some deadly virus on the plane, or when you land you find out that human existence has been wiped out while you in the air, or the North Korans set off an EMP over the US and your plane looses power and crashes.
