Paying for your marriage license

Hiya, I have a quick question about paying for your marriage license in the courthouse?

Can you pay in cash, or do you need a credit card? We have the cash set aside for the license, but were considering buying a preloaded Visa card in case they need a card. Would that work?

Thank you!

Apologies for jumping on this thread, but I'm wondering if it's correct that all you need is your passports and your birth certificates to apply for licence and get married in the courthouse?
