Upgrading 2 week ticket to AP prices

Has anyone done this recently and if so how much was it? Is the ticket valid for a year from the day you upgrade or the first day you use the original tickets?
Also did you have problems with your photo pass photos as on a recent TR their photos were lost when doing this and they did get them back but I’m planning on upgrading on day 9 as we leave for AMI that day and so won’t be able to go and sort the photos out.

I've heard that HS is the place to do it, when I contacted Disney about it I was told that they would give me the Wholesale price =£330 (even though I paid them more than this!) & it's the difference between the 2. Someone posted on the DVC forum that they upgraded to a Gold for Approx. $50/$60, obviously that's including the DVC discount.
I believe it's from the first use of the original pass.

Funnily enough HS was where I’d did it last time but that was just chance. I can’t remember what I paid them as it was 2014. Was planning on DS this time as we’ll probably pop there before leaving.
Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure on price, but I know the AP will definitely be backdated to the first date you used the 14-day ticket. Best to upgrade as soon as you've used the ticket just once, then you can get the AP benefits sooner rather than later.

That won’t work for us then as we’re going the same time next year so was hoping to upgrade and use Disney the first week! New plan! Thanks
