Early Arrival at Universal if I have an express pass?

HI,
we are staying overnight during August at Universal which automatically gives us express passes - do we still need to arrive for check in mega early to get into the parks on the first day or do you think arriving around 10am and heading into the parks from there will be enough? View appreciated. Thanks

We always try and get there as early as possible - even with express, the lines can still be quite lengthy in August. The earliest you can check in (if I remember correctly) is 07:00 to one of the Universal hotels to get your express ticket (room key).

If you're just doing one night/two days and want to do both parks I would say the earlier the better, if you're doing a few days, take it easy and rock up at 10:00.

Thanks was hoping to squeeze volcano bay in there as well so sounds like an early start is needed!

10am, not for us bondys, always hit the park for early opening (8am), hey, but we are all different , bondy.

Last year we arrived early but now the HP rides are on express we’ll probably have a later start. Thinking arrive around 9am, have breakfast and then get on those rides!
If you’re doing VB then arriving early is probably recommended though.

The only lines I've ever noticed to be long with express passes are the likes of minions and the water rides.

Yes I was wondering about this . We used to arrive early for Hp but now they are included . We are there a busy weekend in July though ... mmmmm
