If you did choose the bubble they are all 3-3 so might suit 9 people better. It does cost but personally the best economy seats and the little shelf is very useful with a little one!

Over a month down the line and still no ref on manage my booking.
Apologies if this sound a bit dense. For the first time we have booked our entire package through VH and want to book seats in the bubble, this will be around late November. Do I contact VA with my VH booking reference to enable me to book the seats. Thanks

The easiest way is to go to VH website, manage my booking, click on my itinerary and scroll down to your flights. There will be a link to book your seats that will work on the date you are able to do this. Your flight ref no will appear on that date as well. If you already have your flight ref no then you can just go to VA website and do it from the my booking link.

I'm not sure how strict VA are, but the T&C's for seating upstairs do state that all passengers must be able to climb the stairs unaided, so not sure a babe in arms would be allowed. Worth checking out.

There is a bassinet premium economy seat upstairs so the baby shouldn't be an issue

Not sure which exact rows you are looking at, but unless you have paid for 'Economy Delight', the extra leg room seats will be blocked out. I also wouldn't pay that much extra to sit in the bubble. Your plan of 3 rows of 3 sounds good, although keep in mind only certain seats can be booked with a lap infant (should easily find one over 3 rows though, usually there's one on every row). You may also want to consider the bassinet seats which are directly before the bulkhead- they are blocked out for me on the seating plan but I'm not travelling with an infant. Maybe you have to ring for them.

I know others have had issue with the flight reference not appearing, but mine showed up right at 8am and booking seats was simple. Still got to do the return seats so fingers crossed it happens like that again...

Thanks everyone very good advice given as always. My sister is actually going to book the baby a seat to be honest as soon as she is born. At the moment we can only book the 8 adult passengers who have booked but my sister is due the date the flight gets released so we will book 8 seats and leave one in between us all for when we are able to book the babe one this will save us sitting her on our lap.
That’s the plan anyway.

When do you fly? I believe you can't book a seat for an infant under 2 years as they must be on your lap
