Food & Wine Festival - Beverage Seminars - any info?

These are the daily EPCOT F&W seminars held twice daily during the festival.

They are $17 plus tax and there is such a bewildering variety.

Has anyone any experience of these? I mean - what do they actually entail? Worth the cost?

The shame - no replies.

Seems to be a bit of a niche event with limited audience as there's very little on google. I think I'm gonna risk it for a biscuit and book one.

You can't go wrong for $17
We haven't done the beverage seminar (the one downside of Disney with kids!) but we did do a food demonstration which was same price. Spent about 45 mins there, watching food cooked by chef, fully narrated so lots of learning then got a plate each of the scallop recipe we had watched. We all enjoyed it and thought good value.
Try Disney food blog they have loads of info on F&W and all the different events available.
Next time we want to do one of the 'mix it make it' workshops

I did the champagne one last year. It was informative but not very interesting not helped by very poor English from the vineyard representative. However still enjoyable due to the variety of champagne and good sized pours. We got three different ones to try.

Hi
I did a vodka one, I think 2 years ago it was really good
Made a Bloody Mary, a tropically one and a shot of flavoured vodka
Really interesting only lasted an hour but really worth it
Hope that helps

We're looking at that one. There's a cocktail making one or a gin/vodka one (I'm not an alcoholic honest) that fits in with some of the days we are at EPCOT.

My DS & I did one last year - Austrian wine. We really enjoyed it. Pours were not large but the vineyard owner who presented was very entertaining and knowledgeable - we learned a lot! I’d definitely do one again.

There's quite a lot about these on the Disney Food Blog, I've been getting lots of emails from the blog about them!

Well we've plumped for a couple of events and booked them.

A wine tasting seminar with an Oregan wine company @£14 pp and a mix it, make it workshop with David Ortiz specializing in cocktail making @ £32 pp.

I did find a few youtube vids which weren't specifically about the seminars but did have a short segment where they attended one. The verdict seems well worth it and very interesting. Plus it's an hour sat down in air conditioned heaven mid-afternoon swung it.

There were a couple more interesting ones but they didn't fit in with our plans. There was a video of the 90's (I think) kiddie pop group Hanson, who had a hit with mmmbop. They were doing a seminar demonstrating their own brand beer which is called mmmHop. It's the simple things in life which tickle me.

Much like yourself we’ve never done one before but have plumped for a couple that fit with our plans for this year. Seemed a reasonable price for a bit of information and some wine tasting
