Given that this is going to be completed before the 50th anniversary of WDW (and, more specifically, MK) and Disney won't want MK looking like a building site for the celebrations, then I'm sure they'll make sure the Tron coaster will be finished well before Fall 2021.

Considering Ellen's Energy Adventure and the Great Movie Ride both closed on the same day and both use the existing buildings, I'm slightly surprised that the GotG ride is expected to take 18 months longer than Mickey&Minnies Runaway Railway.

The Mickey & Minnie Runaway train is being built in the existing building of the Great Movie Ride; whereas GotG ride, as seen from the construction images, are adding a HUGE extention to the building therefore will take longer. If you watch Tim Trackers latest epcot video you can see the scale of the new building they are currently constructing.

Oh, I know that. And I know it'll take longer.

It just surprises me *slightly* that GotG is going to take around twice as long as MMRR to build. It's taking slightly less time to build the whole of Star Wars Land with two brand new indoor rides and lots of other things than it is to build the GotG ride, which does reuse an existing building.

I think the ride type plays a big part .
The GOTG ride is supposed to be one of the longest indoor coasters in the world so would make sense that it’ll take a lot of time to build

Shame, we're having a day trip there this summer, it'll be our first trip to DLP and would have been on our must do list!
