How long is a piece of string, or more specifically how many $ do you take?
We are 2A and 1C going for2 weeks with Dis Dining Plan. We have the following TS booked:
Tuskers lunch 1900 dinner Akershud breakfast Beaches & Cream dinner Mama Melrose dinner Cinderella Royal Table dinner Coral Reef dinner Sci Fi Dine dinner Crystal Palace dinner Rainsforest Café dinner Ohana dinner Garden Grill dinner Liberty Tree dinner I know we need to pay tips so have budgeted $350 and $3/day mouse keeping. Is that enough? How much extra do you take for spends? We aren't going to any malls etc just having days in disney. Thankyou! (first timer so got so many questions!) |

A piece of string is as long as you want it to be?
We take little to no cash. Last time we took no cash with us and took out when there (using the Halifax Clarity card), usually $100 at a time, for things like tips. Paid pretty much everything on the card so we don't need cash often.

Yes that will be enough. We hardly spend anything when on dining plan. We also get the free iced water cups so don't spend any money on drinks!
I think you will have enough just take a CC just in case you do decide to shop. |

how does tipping house keeping work? do they have somewhere to leave a tip or is it just hide all cash apart from what you want them to take? we used to tip at the end of our stay for some holidays but realise this isn't fair as it could be the same person all week and that was their day off when you leave a big tip.

The standard / understood thing to do is leave the tip for the day on a pillow on the bed (until I realised this I'd leave tips on the table and usually it would be left untouched). And yeah, it's best to tip per day so the cleaner of the day gets it, otherwise it will all most likely go to the person who cleans the day you leave (this is a mistake I did for a while as well).

We're a family of 4 so put $5 a day in an envelope on the side by the telly...I just wrote on the front something like 'housekeeping, thanks for looking after our room, the ... family x'

Hi
we leave $2 on the pillow in the morning and also $2 in the evening as the cleaning/turndown teams are different. Best to print off the Housekeeping envelopes which are dollar size when cut out |

We've budgeted about $500 for tips with 2ad+2ch on DDP so that looks approx right.
Rule of thumb for us is as much as we can comfortably afford or approx $50 per person per day. Which ever is greater
