Mine was easy as my Mum and Aunts are all teachers, so I wanted to do it in a school holiday. I love autumn, so that meant October half term (so I had lovely orange leaves in my photos). And because my family had to travel (I live in Leeds, as do all of my husband’s family, but my family live in Essex) I wanted the last Saturday in the half term so that my Mum and others could come up on the Friday.
If I didn’t have to arrange it to suit my family, I probably would just gone with whichever date my venue had that also suited me. My brother and his wife got married on their anniversary (from when they had their first date). Is there any special date for you?

We’re getting married in Croatia but picked May as our anniversary is 4th May. We were going to go with the 4th but our wedding planner advised us that later in the month was more likely to have better weather so we’ve went with the 25th as that’s also a bank holiday weekend and we want people to be able to go for the weekend if they want.

We wanted a Friday or a Monday so our US & Canada relatives could tag it on to a weekend and come.
My first plan was to get married on 10th October 2010 - 10.10.10 because husband is a computer programmer but we couldn't get that to work. |
