Disney is to start charging for Resort Parking

WDTC-US Reservations made from 21st March 2018 will be subject to a per night resort parking fee that will be added to the guests check-out bill.

"Standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Guests for a fee that will be applied to their hotel folio upon check-out. All parking fees include applicable tax."

Standard overnight parking charges:
  • Disney Value Resorts: $13 per night
  • Disney Moderate Resorts: $19 per night
  • Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: $24 per night

Complimentary standard parking is available to Guests staying at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Each campsite provides parking space for one (1) motorized vehicle.

{EDIT}
Official news from Disney UK is that for any booking made before 31/12/2019 parking will be free. Booking made on or after 31/12/2019 will be charged as per the prices stated.

This applied to all UK bookings from not only Disney UK but from other uk travel agents too.

Hasn't this been confirmed as only from 2020 for UK bookings?

There has been some discussion in the main thread regarding this. However I have not seen anything official regarding UK and US being different in regards to parking at the 'resorts', we have contacted Disney UK for clarification.

Stu. I have updated the Guidebook as the Theme Park parking fees were wrong.

Maybe I should have left it as that may spur them to increase it further

At the moment, the statement regarding parking fees only appears on the American Disney website. People booking through the WDTC UK website would be subject to WDTC UK's terms and conditions, which currently don't list any parking fees.

Admittedly, WDTC UK could update the website between now and 21st March (or at any other time) to add this.

It does raise the question of how Disney will determine who has a car and who doesn't as well as how they determine where you booked the hotel (eg. does the fee apply if you booked via Virgin or Orlando Attractions or ATD or any other third party?).

I’m wondering the same and what will happen if a car is hired for part of a stay?

I wonder if it will be applied to all bookings and you need to request removal if you don't have a car . Be interesting to see how it works. (And how you prove you don't have a car)
