Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party
Does anybody have any advice about booking the Plaza Gardens/Tomorrowland Terrace fireworks dessert party?
How long before does the booking window open up. How do you book it? Many thanks xx

We have done this a couple of times and it’s really good. We’ve just booked again this week for end of October so you can book quite far in advance. You just book through the Disney website. Really easy and it’ll link to your reservations.
We do the Plaza viewing as the reserved garden area is perfect for watching the projections square on. I’ve heard that the terrace viewing isn’t as good as the plaza due to the terrace being off at slight angle. Anyway as always with Disney its not cheap but you get a good assortment of desserts, plenty of drinks, fruits, cheeses and tea coffee. Also Ice creams and make your own cookies for the kids etc. I like doing the dessert party as it means an hour to chill out and sit down without the hassle of pitching up 2 hours before the fireworks and sitting on the floor! You are then walked over to the garden by a cast member when you wish. You can usually arrive at the party earlier than the given time. Think we’ve usually arrived 20 minutes beforehand. |

It depends. If you mean can a child watch from sitting in a stroller I’d say possibly no because you are not stood directly at the front of the castle. You may still have people blocking a view at that level. However children standing or little ones on an adults hip (not shoulders!) will see fine as you are not crammed in like the regular viewing area. There was loads of room last time we went and plenty of choice of where to stand. There have been quite a few children when we’ve attended and we are taking our 7 year old nephew this time.
For reference I’ve attached a map showing viewing areas I found previously on Touring Plans I believe Edited at 10:54 PM. |

Definitely go for the plaza gardens view as it is way better than the (more expensive) terrace view. Theterrace View is to one side of the castle which imo would mean you didn’t get full effect of the projections. There are also overhanging trees in front of the terrace to further obscure the view. The garden view was $20 cheaper per person and was great.
The desserts were meh, but you’re not really paying for those..it’s all about the uncrowded view without the need to wait for hours. You book on MDE and payment upfront is required (if you cancel up to 24 hours before you will get a refund). It’s not always released at 180 days though...it was later for us. I just kept checking

Yes have seen strollers in there and still plenty of room for all. In fact, we weren’t ‘close’ to anyone whilst stood watching. Nearest person was say 7 ft away.

We were at the party last night and hoped everyone would stay sat down but a few adults came and stood at the front blocking everyone’s view. This made everyone get up and walk to the front to try and get a better view. I felt sorry for a few people towards the back in wheelchairs that would have only seen the higher displays on the castle... the fireworks would have been fine.
