Whats the best part of DVC for you

Hi, were looking to join DVC (sometime in the future) and it got me wondering, what do other people enjoy about their DVC membership? and has it help create any special moments for you and your family?

This isn't going to effect our decision, its already been made quite some time ago (AKL, 200-300 points, dream season)

Our favourite home is Boardwalk. The first time we saw it pre-DVC we couldn’t imagine ourselves ever being able to afford to stay there paying cash. A couple of years later we bought points and are proud to call Boardwalk our home.

Although I haven’t had my first stay yet (countdown is getting smaller ) I am sooooo excited to experience my first DVC stay.

We spent a few years thinking about DVC and took the plunge while on holiday in July last year. Now wish we had done it sooner!

I think I’m most excited to call The Wilderness Lodge (Copper Creek) my home as I absolutely love it!

For us, it’s staying in these beautiful resorts and feeling when we come to book that the accommodation part is free (even though obviously it isn’t). When it comes to booking a trip it feels so much more doable just pricing up flights and tickets.

I love the knowledge that we’re always going to be going back to Disney on a regular basis. It makes the end of each trip much less traumatic!

We’ve also been to a Moonlight Magic event and it was great! I just love being part of a club with likeminded mentalists

It’s that moment when we drive upto the Boardwalk and they say welcome home.

Like Jan I never thought I’d be able to stay there and I’ve never tired of it yet.

We also like trying other resorts but we haven’t found one we prefer yet. At this point it really is like going home.

We did the DVC tour a while ago, got to our room and crunched the numbers. we had no problem buying in then and there, but it just wants the right time for us. I can say yeah we could have done it sooner but we couldn't have, it just wasn't the right time. But soon it will be.

Moonlight Magic is on my wish list, looking forward to doing that.

For me it is being able to stay in different resorts every time and enjoy 1 and 2 bed suites at places that do cost a fortune for 1 and 2 beds paying cash.
Make sure you consider resale, the savings can be huge, don't fall for the 'perks' sales pitch, I have both direct and resale and certainly would never get the extra costs out of 'perks' that they charge for direct.

I like the idea of going to stay at the Grand Floridian. But as I said to my DF the other day, she'll probably try and come out with the lamps, pictures and bathroom taps lol

The big perk that Disney have for me besides the discount on tickets is the free parking

For us it is just being able to stay at the fantastic resorts that are our home resorts (BLT & BWV). We couldn’t afford to stay in these resorts for up to 4 weeks a year, which isn’t what our DVC membership gives us. The perks/ discounts come and go, but those resorts are my second home (hopefully for life).

We have only been members for four years but have now stayed in all the resorts. We certainly could not have done this without DVC
