Sad we are selling

our two small WL contracts. I think it is just nostalgia really but in all likelihood we won’t be going back and it would reduce the dues bill every January.

With price per point continuing to rise have you consider renting those points through David's as at $13 per point they will not only pay the dues for your WL contracts but also for the same amount of points and more for your SSR or BWV contracts?

There's a chance that David will increase the rental cost soon so keeping pace with the dues you'll pay and your WL contracts might well be worth a few dollars more per point if selling in a few years time when the Star Wars park opens. And good luck if you do sell them.

Good advice. Depending on when you bought and how you bought (resale v direct) returns can be 10%+ per annum on renting points, really simple to do as well via David's. You will struggle to get such a good return so easily elsewhere at the mo.

Jan. A sad day. I bet this really took some thought and was a very emotional decision.
Best wishes.

How did you manage that, he says 13/14 on his website?
I do think he needs to get his prices up, pronto.

Interestingly he now has this announcement on there:

"We are currently experiencing a shortage of points for all resorts: We have guests lined up for reservations arriving over the next 6 months. All points are valid for these reservations."

They said our points were in high demand which I thought odd because we own at akv

Are your pts not in high demand as I would have thought Animal Kingdom was?

Also to consider that through David's there's a WL home resort booking premium of an extra $1 per point for any reservation that is secured more than 7 months in advance of the arrival date so by only offering your points to rent at plus 7-months one can make $14 per points.

There's also another positive to consider as WL studios are one of only five WDW resorts that allows up to 5-guest in a studio and as there's only four resorts which allow up to 5-guest in their 1-beds with the other 1-beds being up to 4-guest then a WL studio will always be in high command.

Sounds like the right decision for you Jan, but I'm sure it's hard after owning so long and making so many memories. Hope all goes smoothly for you with the sale x
