I did exactly the same when my Daughter, Partner and Grandaughter came in 2015 and had their own room in SSR but on a cash booking.

That way I was booking FP's on my own MDE account for the 6 of us. So us 3 in a DVC room and the other 3 in a cash room.
However I made sure my Daughter didn't create an account in her own name as it was easier my way.

Once you create your 'Friends and Family ' list in MDE,make sure when you book the DVC and list your guests with exactly the same names. It should then link the two together. You will then be able to book the FP at 60 days.
Then you can also choose to share the plans with friends and family so everyone can see them in MDE.
