Alcohol on plane
Random question! When we - hopefully - travel next July my DD will be 20 and my DS 18. Just curious what the deal is with alcohol on the aircraft as they are under 21. Hoping to travel BA if that makes a difference. They aren’t alcoholics and it’s not an issue - I’m just curious as UK is 18 and US is 21?! 😂

I’m certain on the plane it will be 18, as you’ll be in international airspace and not in the US.

I think it’s based on where the airline is registered therefore they’d be fine on a BA flight but not an American Airlines flight. When we last went in 2019 it wasn’t long after my son’s 18th and he asked for a beer when the drinks came round not long after take off. This was a Virgin flight and he only had the one as it was a novelty for him having only recently turned 18. It’s not recommended to smell of alcohol at immigration when under age.

Think alcohol should be banned on aircraft or limited to 2 drinks to stop air rage. Same should apply to airports.
Airlines serve people as much as they can to increase profits then don't understand when people get aggressive to them or other passengers Edited at 05:54 PM. |

All transatlantic flights we have been on, the alcohol is free, so no profit to be made there. They do limit how much you can drink really anyway, by the way they operate their service on the plane. Never seen anyone drunk or unruly.
