Croatia-any thoughts?

Looking at potential destinations for August if I have to change my current booking again. It will by myself and DH (fully vaccinated) with DS (8). Has anyone got experience of a Croatia holiday with children? Thanks in advance

We love Croatia, especially the areas around Split, Omis, Duce, etc. When we stayed at Duce, the beach was very family friendly, with shallow clear water, pedalos to hire cheaply, little cafes etc. In Omis during high season there was a funfair for all age groups, which our children enjoyed, and we also did lots of activities (river rafting, zip lining, boat trips, kayaking) and visited Krka which is just incredible.
The Plaza Duce hotel would be a good bet, or anything in Omis area. Its around thirty minute bus ride to Split along a straight road. I have no idea how Covid has affected any of this though, so bear in mind might have all changed!

We visited Croatia in 2018, staying in Split. We loved the country and definitely want to return and see more of it one day. We didn’t take children, it was just me, DH and our, then, 18 yo DD. I did write a trip report (link below) that may give you an idea of how beautiful it is there

We stayed in Cavtat near Dubrovnik and we loved it though we had teenagers . If you stay in a hotel or campsite with entertainment I think the children would be fine. As others have said there were beach activities and things like kayaking etc . Next year we hope to go away with my nephew and his young family- we were thinking of Croatia but they were worried the young girls would be bored so think we will go Spain instead but they are younger than your son . There are some lovely campsites in Croatia though that may suit you - it’s a beautiful country .

That hotel looks amazing, we may have to find a hotel that Tui do though if we are amending our booking with them.

Krka National Park is a must do when you visit, it’s really beautiful 💞 I hope you enjoy the report and it helps you with your plans, whenever you get to Croatia

We did a tui family hote in Rabac just a couple of years ago. Really enjoyed it. Pool was a bit too small & crowded but we had a swim up and sea was just crystal clear. Absolutely would return

I’ve been looking at Croatia too. I don’t get my second jab til next week, is there an amount of time you have to wait after this? We had so much cancelled last year that I wouldn’t want to book until the week before we went!

I am sure it’s two weeks or something after second jab but can’t be sure. They also accept a negative test if not double vaccinated.
