Resin Driveway

I’ve wanted one for a long time, just love the finish and minimal maintenance
Had a guy out to quote from a company the specialise in this and he said he wouldn’t recommend them and said stamped concrete, which kind of threw me
So I’d like people’s personal experience for resin please, anything not good with them?
We are keeping a patch of grass, the resin where we park 2 cars, then along the length of our garage and also in front of the living room windows, I think it would look lovely
My DH said they’ve only quoted approx £800 difference between stamped and resin, so would be interesting in bearing thoughts please, thanks x

We are looking at a resin driveway. Our guy who quoted said he wouldn't do imprinted concrete. My in laws have imprinted concrete and on several occasions getting out of the car I have ended up on my back because it has been so slippery.

100% recommend. We had one done 6 years ago. Sparkled like diamonds in the driveway for a while. Had so many compliments and one neighbour copied us. We just wash is down now and then. No weeds or any problems. Next door have imprinted concrete and it’s like an ice rink when wet as confirmed by recently retired from royal mail DH. They can refuse to walk on it when delivering mail if they feel in danger of slipping.

What sort of cost is a resin driveway? I too would love to have mine done but if I did I would want to take up the grass in front of my window and make it a 3 car driveway so I guess it would be mega expensive?

I've been quoted just over £4,000. My drive is 1 car wide, fits three alongside the house. Not sure of sq m.

We have gravel, which I really like but it isn't maintenance-free! So, resin sounds interesting. Would you be getting bound or bonded? I think bound is the one that is smoother and, importantly, allows rainwater drainage (even more important as people get artificial lawns). Apparently, you can get weeds from seeds dropped by birds, but, like with gravel, they're loose and really easily pulled up when tiny. So, as long as you keep on top of it, you're OK (I pull up a couple from the gravel most days back and fore to the car (in spring and summer).

Just don't get this - it will take the postie ages to get to your front door!
