We have stayed at the Venetian too and that’s a lovely hotel

Vegas is possibly chilly in December. Only possibly.
Hilton is £600 cheaper and looks just as nice, plus there is a shuttle bus

Palm Springs, California. It has its own airport right near the town, so you don’t need a car. We used to go in February, and it was really hot.

December is the coldest month for Vegas; can go down to near 0 degrees once the sun goes down.
Some of the hotels close their pools during the winter so check that if important to you.

We did San Diego on one of our Cali trips; stayed for 3-4 days without a car without any problem; did a combo of walking, the HOHO bus & Uber; only picked up our rental car on leaving SD.

Edited at 05:56 PM.

I think that’s what I would do (San Diego rather than Vegas)

We have been to Palm Springs in November and it was lovely. For us the weather was perfect.
We are looking at Phoenix for next November as, again, the weather will be great for us. We want to visit Phoenix but during the summer, even up to September/October it will be very hot for us. My husband is a golfer so there will be plenty to keep us occupied and if we want a trip to Vegas for a couple of days it’s not too far. And there is lots around it that I want to do.
