If they introduce the dining plan for next year, I wonder if you can purchase it and use your credits to reduce the price!?

I'd say it's unlikely as you need to add a dining plan to your booking in advance, and you don't get your dining credit until you're there.

Hmm strange that they wouldn’t work in conjunction with each other really, but suspect you are right.

Even with free dining in the past, you had to do it in advance and couldn't pay to upgrade when you got there.

I posted this in the other thread but I could see WDTC potentially offering some kind of trade in deal as a goodwill gesture, as they probably had no indication of when DDP in any form would return when they had to release their offer. So get your credit value off the cash price of DDP if you switch before balance due, as a hypothetical example.

Although you'd still effectively be paying for DDP outright, so you'd need to work out whether that's actually going to be financially beneficial. I know for me, it wouldn't be as I don't drink alcohol and always seem to want the cheapest item on the menu.

I had made my mind up that we’d pay for the dining plan if it came out as I love the kids having it on their MBs and it gives them a lot of freedom. But I guess I could just put by the money I would have paid for the plan and let the kids use the band and charge to the room. Could then pay off every couple of days. We’re not really big dessert eaters and neither of us drink alcohol, so all in that might be the better option for us.
