when is the best time to get a good deal on a flight for July 2022?

flights availability comes out 11 months before so should come out aug for july 22

We usually (pre-covid) book our flights with BA as find they have the best deals, pay deposit with car hire etc.

I will be checking flights for our trip next Aug in September, but we normally book in the Christmas sale (Christmas Day/Boxing Day time) as they (used to) have some amazing offers... not sure whether to hold on or just book...

I don't know what to do!

I suppose if we see flights in Sept we're happy with, we'll just book!

The problem js that no historic data is useful this coming year. There are so many people moving flights, vouchers to spend and awash with cash (I am fully aware that this is not everyone dmany people have much less) from no holidays for 18 months that nothing is the same as other years.

Dont go with other years data

BA release 355 days in advance on a rolling daily basis, Virgin/Delta(KLM/AF) and most other airlines are 330 days. I agree with munmun next year is unpredictable taking into account the Covid Factor and pent up demand. I think at times it will come down to the eternal DIBB advice of "if you find a price you are happy with never look back"
