Which seaside town to visit for the day?
Which is the best seaside town to visit for the day not far from London? I’ve been to Brighton, Margate, Hastings, Southend, Bournemouth, Worthing, Clayton many years ago and sometimes head to Boscombe or west wittering just to sit on the beach. We want to walk around a seaside town, go to some shops and a pub where dogs are allowed, see the sea. It’s got to be dog friendly. It can be the places I’ve mentioned because it’s been a while since we’ve been there. Any ideas please? 🙏

Have you tried Whitstable ? I think you could easily do all that there - there is a nice pub on the beach too !

I think one of our dibbers lives there and would have great tips but I have certainly had a drink in a pub that is literally on the beach and is dog friendly but there are plenty of places around the beach wall that you can eat and drink (well and cheaply) plus its a gorgeous little town with lovely little shops etc.

I was going to suggest Whitstable or Herne Bay
If you do go to Whitstable, we always park just along the coast in Tankerton, for free, and then its only a 10 minute walk into Whitstable. I know loads of people who've struggles parking in Whitstable this year, and its also fairly expensive.
