Anywhere that doesn’t require 6 months on passport

We’re now thinking of plan B.

2 of us can’t travel to Europe on our passports, before I see about a trip to the passport office is there anywhere else, other than the US that doesn’t require 6 months on our passport (and will include months added on when we renewed then early).

Do you know its actually 3 months? There has been confusion about this but it has been clarified for certain that you just need 3 months, it may be 3 months when you leave, not arrive.

You'll probably prefer not to count on some idiot on the dibb for this, I'll see if I can find anything official. But does it change things if you only needed 3 months?

For some places it less but this is taken from passport site

Renewing your passport before it expires
You need at least 6 months left on your passport to travel to certain countries. Check the entry requirements of the country you're visiting to see how much time left you need on it. Time left on your old passport will not be added to your new one.

Like I say, this has been clarified that even some of the advice on govt websites is wrong.

Some reading material if this is going to make any difference:

I don’t think it will, they expire in January but there’s about 6 months added on from when we renewed.

Yes and it seems dicey at the very least to try to use that extra bit. Makes you wonder why they bother with it.

Basically don't land with a passport issued more than 10 years ago, but so long as the validity takes you up to departure date plus 3 months, it will be fine. This other Independent article is pretty helpful, worth reading line by line.

I think you'd need nerves of steel to push these rules at their limits, to be fair.
