Tinks, I’ve got a coupon for that tour 2011 ~ Day 6

Day 6 ~ A Disney Sale 23rd July 2011

It was a bit of a shock to get up at 5am today but we are still sort of on Irish time so it wasn’t too bad. We were heading off to the passholder / DVC Disney sale at DTD, we got some great bargains last year so didn’t mind making the effort to get going. We had some cereal and first stop once we left the villa was the drive through Starbucks just around the corner, for something to help Steve & I get going. We got to DTD at around 5:45am and there was already quite a line with people joining all the time. The opened the doors at 6am and it probably took us another 15 minutes before we got on the store.

What can I say, the sale was total rubbish and seemed to be full of speculators buying up arms full of Vinylmation’s and Dooney & Bourke bags that you just know will probably be listed on e-bay later that afternoon. We bought a couple of t-shirts and a hoodie but it really wasn’t worth making the effort for. We were leaving the shop by 7:15am and there were still lines of people waiting to get in.



Everyone was hungry and as I had a coupon , we set off for Bob Evans on the 192 near Formosa Gardens for breakfast. From there it was a trip to Super Target as Steve wanted to get an SD card that was on offer. We then went to Barns & Nobel so that I could get a hard cover for my Nook and after that, we needed to call into Sea World to activate our AP’s as we’ll need them for Discovery Cove tomorrow. This was fairly straightforward and even through we bought them last October, they are valid for two years from today’s date (some people had been told that the passes were valid from the date bought, not the date activated)

That done, we drove to the Loop where Steve got some Teva sandals in Sports Authority and I bought a UV top for Aodhan to use tomorrow at DC as his one from last year was destroyed by chlorine. I’ll also have to get one for Niamh, but they didn’t have any for her so we’ll have to call into the Beach Club later as I saw some there yesterday. We had a quick look in Ross Dress for Less, before getting back in the car and driving over to JC Pennys where I got some shorts and Aodhan got an Angry Bird T-shirt.

We were all hot and tired now so set off back to the villa and decided to call into Friendlys for lunch. What a great place, we all really enjoyed what we had and the bill came to $40 including tip (yes, I used a coupon )











We went back to the villa where we chilled until it was time to head out for our ADR at the HoB. We’d taken advantage of the Restaurant.com offer and had a $50 voucher that had only cost us $4.00 The meal was lovely and as I’d bought 2 vouchers, we’re looking forward to coming back here in a couple of weeks.











By the time they took off the voucher the bill came to $70 including tip. When we’d finished we had a mooch around DTD before heading back to the villa as we were all tired from our early start.

Good lord, is that half an cow on someone's plate . Fantastic food photos and well done on the couponing. I'm definitely going to have a bash at that this year. Shame about the DTD sale though esp with you all going to the trouble of being out so early for it.

Lovely day Jakki, shame the early start wasn't worth it. Barry is the King of Coupons on our trips and kept them all in the car so we wouldn't forget them.

Shame about the sale! You don't normally get out of bed early for less than a million dollars, do you? Or have I confused you with someone else

As a for instance, how much cheaper were the Dooneys and the Vinyls? Just in case we are in Orlando when it's on next year...
