US entry requirements for Children - Updated 25.10.21

UPDATED 25.10.21 - Confirmed by The White House.

Under 18s do not need to be vaccinated and instead just need to take a supervised rapid antigen test or a PCR within 3 days of departure. For example if you travel on a Tuesday you can test on Saturday/Sunday/Monday.

Happy travelling guys!

Good idea. I'm sure this will be a big concern for parents.

Itís a worry at the moment with the 1 dose recommendation for 12-16. Hopefully, they will add another on, they said they would review.

I think the issue will be for parents of 12-18 year old since they can be vaccinated now. I'm planning a trip to NYC and my kids are under 8 but I noticed the vaccination notices on attractions state unvaccinated over 12s won't get access

Great idea for a thread. Really hoping for a positive outcome for the poor over 12s.

Iím assuming those younger will be ok.

I really hope not. The most I can hope for is a test pre departure and a test on arrival, or that children follow their vaccinated parents.

Im concerned about this. I have a 15 yr old daughter who will be eligible for 1 vaccine however thatís not fully vaccinated in the US eyes as they double vaccinate their children. So sheís too young in the UK to be properly vaccinated but two old in USA to not be vaccinated So this announcement makes no difference to us as we wonít travel without her. Iím hoping things change moving forward.
