St Petes Beach - anyone stayed at TradeWinds Island Grand or Guy Harvey Outpost
Thinking about doing 3 nights at St Pete's each next year.
Anyone stayed at TradeWinds Island Grand or Guy Harvey Outpost? Which would you recommend out of these or any others? |

We stayed in Guy Harvey when it was called Sandpiper, I liked it very much and would happily return. Have been for a meal in Tradewinds when we were totally overdressed but other than that very nice.

We've stayed at the Tradewinds Grand before. The location is great, and our DDs liked the pools, mini golf and beach access. I would describe it as being a bit past its sell by date, I don't mean that's a big issue (it was extremely clean and staff very lovely) but felt like it was probably really amazing 20 years ago? I would stay again for the right price.

Stayed at Tradewinds for 3 nights last August. It was ok, location was fantastic obviously, but the room was very small. We paid a huge resort fee($45 per night I think) on top of our room cost to use facilities, we only used the sun beds so it seemed a lot for that. Next door was Grand Plaza, if I went again I think I'd book that as I seem to recall it was a lot cheaper- we had breakfast there everyday, delish. Both had small pools, but who needs a pool when you are right on the beach!

We paid $7/night when we stayed - $45 is horrendous! The Grand Plaza was twice the price we got Tradewinds at so that was a no brainer for us!

There is a $50 resort fee for both hotels
We had a good deal on the nightly price for Guy Harvey (£70ish per night) so we have added the resort fee in our minds when we were booking. You do get quite a lot for that fee (see website for more details) but the one thing that swayed us was the free entrance to the water park which is in front of the Tradewinds Grand (200 flip flops away from Guy Harvey apparently!). |
