I think it's guaranteed that they're drop the quarantine for amber list countries.
Don't think it'll help many going in August. We could well set foot on US soil in August, but we'll have arrived after 15 days in Cancun. Not practical for the vast majority of holiday makers. It makes a nonsense of the whole presidential proclamation it really does. It's great we don't have to self isolate on our return from the US, but we've still got to pay for PCR tests on our return, even for our young children. Waiting for BA to swap our outgoing flights to Cancun... hoping to hear back today 🙏 |

What age will be classed as 'children' with the new rules? I can only find 12-16. Where does this leave 17 year olds?

LONDON, July 8 (Reuters) - British transport minister Grant Shapps is expected to set out the details of a plan to scrap quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers who return from medium risk countries later on Thursday, in what will be a huge boost for airlines.
Shapps is due to make a statement on travel changes which will apply to England in the House of Commons at 1030 GMT. Here's the link from Reuters : reuters/world/uk/bri...es-2021-07-08/ |

Yeah keen to understand if no quarantine that’s good but who in party needs to do the day 2 PCR and does this mean no test in the days before coming home? We have a 2 year old and a 7 year old so costs add up if they are required to have fit to fly and day 2 tests. Children who can’t get jag should be exempt from all of this.
If this comes in from 19th july it might have relaxed further for certain counties by the next review in early august. Does anything change then if USA goes green which it really should be and if it doesn’t next week it’s purely political posturing by our master negotiators in government. *all hypothetical of course until usa lowers the drawbridge Edited at 08:32 AM. |
