From the Beach to the Wilderness Halloween 16 Day 5 Back Home to Our Dreamy Corner

It was another early start for me, waking at 2.30, sleep again at 4 and getting up at 6. Darren was already up so we chilled for a while before we had to pack and tidy up. I sat outside for a while, savouring the view and the lovely cool breeze. We had to leave our sunshine cottage by 10.00 so at 9.30 we said our goodbyes and dropped the keys off at the realtor around the corner. Last year 2 nights had not been enough at AMI, this year 3 nights had been better but I think 4 nights would have been just right. As we left we called at Ginny and Jane's which is a quirky shop/cafe/bakery. We had a browse first and I bought a print of a rainbow over Bridge Street pier as a memento. We ordered breakfast to go: coffee for Darren, smoothie for Matt, smoothie and bagel with cream cheese for Alix and apple Danish for me. Alix's bagel took a while as they are baked to order but we were on our way by 10.00 and arrived at Dreamy Corner villa in Silver Creek, Orlando a couple of hours later.

This was the same villa that we had stayed in last year and the first time we have ever returned to a villa. It took us a few minutes to find the door code but the first thing Matt saw when he entered was the records he left there last year. He hadn't wanted them so had left them, thinking somebody could either have them or throw them out. It was at this point that it occurred to me that I didn't know what time we could check in and we could be too early. Seeing the towels around the villa I knew we were ok.





There was no wild excitement of exploring a new villa this time, more a "Aah, we're home," feeling. We did explore the new dressing up things and books though and Matt found John the ghost that he had befriended last year.





I was in the pool within 20 minutes, which was much warmer than the pool at AMI.





For the rest of the afternoon we spent time in the pool, sunbathing, playing volleyball, reading, watching TV, listening to music and all round relaxing.

It was then time for our first park and we entered HS around 5.30. We were lucky enough to be given a car park space right on the end of the line and we jumped straight on the waiting tram. As we entered Alix's band wasn't working so we had to go to customer services. Somehow it wasn't linked correctly but after quite a wait it was sorted. It was a beautiful night, perfect to be in the parks. We all enjoyed the new Star Tours ride before we split up and I went to the Great Movie Ride and Darren, Alix and Matt went to Rock n Roller Coaster.



It was the first time I'd ever been on the Great Movie Ride and I really enjoyed it. We met up again and for a change my family had to wait for me. We had a browse in the shops along Sunset Boulevard, where Alix bought 2 jackets from Planet Hollywood.



Darren, Matt and I then rode ToT, which is great at night, in the dark.



All of the rides had been walk ons with the Fastpasses. We then grabbed a drink and some popcorn and sat on a wall to await the new Star Wars show.



This was really good but we hadn't stood in a very good spot as the trees in front of us blocked the fireworks.








We walked back to the car as we were only parked in Stage and it was a beautiful night. We called at Winn Dixie and then KFC. Unfortunately KFC mixed up the order and Matt's meal and part of Alix's meal were missing. Alix decided she didn't want hers so gave it to Matt and then got on the phone and complained to KFC, who told her they woukd give us both meals if we called before 6 the next day.

I love walking into our villa, it really is that 'were home' feeling. Shame about KFC messing up your order. Pussycat
