We fly in 11 days and I will be 5 months pregnant (nearly 6 when we fly back). I’m doing my usual live trip report on the reporter app while there. I’ve made fast passes for the usual big rides and DD and DH will go on them while I sit and people watch with a snack or a drink. It’s going to be very different from our usual holidays but I’m really looking forward to the change of pace.
For us as DVC members with annual passes we couldn’t do a 2 week holiday anywhere else any cheaper, I won’t feel like I’m missing out on anything as what I can’t do this time i’ll do when we return with our new addition next trip.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I don’t think I’d plan a holiday to Disney knowing I would be pregnant. It’s different if you fall pregnant after it’s booked/paid for. To me, it seems like such a waste of money to go all that way and be so restricted. I would be gutted that i would not be able to go on rides. May as well have a cheaper UK/European holiday and go back when baby born in my view. My hips killed during lots of walking during pregnancy as well and the heat in the uk summer for me was unbearable. Each to their own I suppose and if you don’t really like rides, then fair enough, but I’d be worried about any complications with the pregnancy and then having to cancel. To me it’s a worry you can do without.

Me personally, I wouldn’t book a trip to WDW knowing I was pregnant. If it was already booked then you’d probably just get on with it if all was well. I’ve got two little cherubs (youngest is 11 weeks new ) and both pregnancies were completely different. I could’ve danced around the magic kingdom with my first but the second pregnancy knocked me for six. It really depends on your circumstances. Is it a once in a lifetime trip or can you go again when the baby is here? Sorry to sound like a Debbie downer but from a completely selfish point of view, I’d be sad that I couldn’t go on big thunder mountain haha.

My daughter was 23 weeks pregnant with twins and had a great time. She had no problems and being pregnant didnt slow her down at all but she was used to a lot of walking. A few rides off limits but still plenty to do.

I went last year at 24-26 weeks pregnant and had the best time! I didn’t have a fantastic pregnancy, was sick all the way through, but by that point I was only being sick twice a day and it just didn’t get in the way - I would nip to the loo, brush my teeth and carry on!
If I remember rightly there’s something like 75 attractions at WDW of which you can do 60 whilst pregnant (ie they don’t have any advisory not to ride whilst pregnant). In addition I also rode Kilimanjaro Safari and FOP as I felt that it was ok to do so, having ridden both before prior to pregnancy. We did take things a bit slower and had more chill time but that suited us fine. We are fortunate enough to go regularly that I knew it wouldn’t be long until I could do the things I’d missed on that trip. I’d recommend investing in a good pair of trainers for the walking and also a bump support. I haven’t done a trip report but happy to answer any questions or concerns if you wanted to message me. We went end of May x

At 5/6 months pregnant I thought everytime I walked I was going to cry. I had such bad spd and my hip went out of aliment due to my muscle becoming to relaxed and I had to wear a girdle. I couldn’t think of anything worse then the heat and size of the park and a girdle. I couldn’t have coped even using a wheelchair I would have such hip pain and I still suffer now almost 6 years later. I also had other problems during the pregnancy so I wouldn’t go to Florida but unfortunately it’s only going to be a see how you are when you are at that stage. She may sail thru and have a easy pregnancy or like me have a seriously horrid time and hate the holiday. I would wait and see if I could get a last minute. Book ADRs etc but for the actual hotel/flights etc I would wait

Good to hear both sides. Thanks guys. Going to have a talk. She’s currently just short of 4 months so will wait a few more weeks to see what she’s wanting to do. No issues so far and she’s keen so fingers crossed. Also FYI this isn’t our first trip or a trip that we are worried about missing out on rides. Just going to be a relaxed and enjoy being there kind of trip.
Thanks again everyone. Always fantastic! |

I disliked being pregnant-the idea of being in the heat and not being able to go on rides would make it not worth the trip- I'd prefer to go with a young baby although not everyone will agree with that.

Getting Excited

If it was me I wouldn't knowingly book Disney being pregnant. Like somebody else said , I suffered with awful spd in my pregnancy from 14 weeks whole way through ! Even the thoughts of sitting on an airplane for that long makes my hip hurt now.
