please help us sort a marital dispute out

After a weekend away I walk through the door at about 830 PM to be greeted with the offer of some crumpets

So my question to you dinners is quite simply this ..

Is there a right (or wrong) time of day to enjoy crumpets?

If you like crumpet what is your preferred topping ? Mine is butter or soft cheese

Come on dibbers, join in

I could eat crumpets any time of day, love good salty butter on them!

In my opinion, any time is crumpet time with lashings of salted butter!

Bit disappointed as I have none in the house and really want some now.

My Grandma used to give me crumpets with butter and golden syrup. Haven't had that for years, now I have butter alone or cream cheese.

No wrong time of the day to eat them for me - always with lots of butter melting through them - yum ! Wish I had some in now lol.

Crumpets are great any time of day!
Favourites in our house include just butter, jam, and Nutella.
DH likes them with beans and cheese on top with a poached egg, but I’m more for the simple crumpets!
I’ve never tried with cream cheese so might give this a try.
