virgin and autism
Ok this is complicated.
My daughter has autism, and i am claustrophobic. We are booked to go from gatwick 1.30 pm 3rd june. Do you think virgin will allow us to book seats where we want them, as ideally, i would like 2 sets of 2 seats at the rear of the plane. |

If you give Virgin Special Assistance a call or email and explain this to them, then they will be able to put this on your notes and do the best they can.
virgin-atlantic/en/gb...ecialneeds.jsp My wife suffers with claustrophobia and Virgin have been great in the past! When you board the plane your steward/stewardess will come and find you and make sure you are comfortable. They actually hold back on some seats so as to accomodate people who need special assistance. Last trip we were able to board the pane at the beginning and they had no problem with this. Hope this helps - Clayton

We always fly Virgin & have found them to be really understanding of special needs. We always prefer to have the bulkhead seats as it easier as ds tends to kick the seats in front & is claustrophobic so hates being surrounded by people. Virgin have always been able to accommodate this, even when we have gone in school holidays when the plane is full - a quick phone call is all it takes. They also allowed us to check in via the premium economy check in desk, which was far quicker. The stewardess came & introduced herself to Sam & she made sure she came every time with food etc so he did not get overwhelmed by too many people. We also requested that we board the plane last as ds is better going into an environment which is already established, rather than having loads of people milling past him and they allowed us to disembark first which aleviated the pushing & shoving & cut the immigration queues right down. All this from one phone call!
Louise.

Hi:My sister and her friend both take there autistic kids, one boy one girl and have flown with virgin the last 2 times and are going with virgin again this september and virgin have been fantastic with them in every way, getting them seated where they want (usually behind the bulkhead) and the flight crews have been brilliant with them,so give them a bell and im sure youll get sorted.

I have phoned virgin special assistance for our forthcoming trip in October as my DS has special needs and he too kicks the seat in front and has jerky movements and flaps, also when stressed/anxious he needs to bounce, explained this to virgin and they told me not to worry that they will sort everthing out when we arrive
