Oh my, that view is something else!

I remember an eye watering meal (in price terms) in SoBe. Food was roughly equivalent to Denny's, but more than double the price

Looks like you're having a ball

We've also flown indirect with Delta and thought they were great. My hubby is the same if it rains on holiday!

Great report so far!

Day 2 - Miami heat & an unexpected trip to the ball park

Usual start to the morning with DD and DS still showing good signs of adjustment and waking naturally at 7.30. Breakfast this morning was to be a new destination. Fairly high up the cheaper list of restaurants recommended on Tripadvisor is the Front Porch Cafe which was handily less than a 5 minute walk away. We sat outside and where instantly impressed by the large menu. DH went for the Ham Omlette again, I went for the Breakfast Bonaza (scrambled eggs, mushrooms, cheese and scallions - which I learnt were actually spring onions) and I ordered Strawberry Pop Tarts and French Toast for the terrors to share.

Huge thumbs-up from DH and myself whilst cross words where shared with the chief food wasters that are part of our family. Final bill was $58 including a 17% tip which was automatically included.

The pool was next on the plan as it is quite hard to get pool chairs in a good spot. It was only 9.15 but we managed to strike it lucky with the last three front row seats. The lovely sunny weather had brought out the crowds.

The pictures pretty much explain the rest of the activity;

DH had spotted in the Herald that the Marlins were playing at home tonight and having never seen a live Baseball game we decided to make an unplanned excursion later.

Around 3pm we returned to the room as I'd planned a wander to the Lincoln Road Mall which comes highly recommended.

Unfortunately we weren't overly impressed and the restaurant we had planned to try looked a bit run down so we walked back to the Front Porch Cafe. This proved to be a great choice, DH had the Southern Chicken Sandwich and I had the Chicken Caesar Salad. All were lovely, DS and DD had icecream as we'd given in to their need for McDonalds in the hope of getting them to finish a meal. Final bill was $53 including tip. The service was very friendly here and the food was lovely.

We jumped straight into a taxi and requested the Marlins Stadium, this unplanned trip is very unlike us and in the words of Miss Steele my inner goddess was feeling very wanton (honestly I think every person around the pool is reading one of the books, having finished the trilogy I have to stop myself wandering up to people and asking their thoughts on it all)! The taxi ride came to $30 with tip and the stadium was an impressive sight. We managed to get tickets for $10 each after showing my impressive Baseball knowledge and asking the ticket seller where would he sit that was cheap. It was amazing inside, bright and exciting.

The view from every seat was impressive and we enjoyed the action, the food was expensive and I spent another $14 on snacks for the kids (me + money = water).

After 1 1/2 hours DS actually fell asleep and we decided to call it a day.

It was great fun and there were loads of empty seats available. I am definitely glad that we did it for the experience, great fun.

Everyone is tucked up in bed now by 9pm. DS is already excited about our move to the Royal Pacific tomorrow. I hope the sun is still shining on you all in the morning!
