The Greatest Place in the World (not WDW) Day 9 Winter Golf

9.3.19
I am still waking too early, today at 4.30 - but I am managing to get back to sleep. Today we were having a lazy morning and it felt great to not be rushing out and to be able to relax in the pool and hot tub, particularly as it was much warmer today. Our family of birds came to see us too. We saw them nearly every day and it was great to see how much the babies grew while we were there.

After lunch Alix and I went to AK, while Darren & Matt stayed at the villa. Once again we enjoyed safaris, Everest and FoP but it was very busy and hot. We don’t usually go to the parks at this time of day as we like to avoid the crowds but it was one of the days we could get a FP for FoP. However we particularly enjoyed watching the chimps play.

Darren picked us up 3.30 and we went to Winter Summerland golf. After 10 trips and always having access to this on our tickets this was the first time we had been here. We loved it and thought it was great fun, particularly when Darren and Matt unexpectedly got wet by the snowman. - We also enjoyed listening to the Xmas songs. The scores were Darren 1st, Matt 2nd, Alix 3rd, me last - this was nothing new. This was another highlight of the holiday.

After some deliberation we decided on Denny’s for dinner, somewhere we had only been once before so we were a little hesitant. Darren had egg and fries, Alix egg and seasoned fries, Matt philly steak and fries and I had a make your own breakfast and chose muffin, scrambled egg, pancakes and hash browns, with a lovely raspberry iced tea. This was really good value and Alix said they were the best fries ever, so Denny’s turned out to be a good choice.

Back at the villa Matt went in the hot tub but the rest of us were too tired so I sat on the side and chatted to him. It was lovely to spend time together in the cool night air, refreshing my feet in the tub. The boys finished the day with a game of pool and I finished sitting in the rocking chair on the balcony, reading.

The Winter Summerland Golf noted above is right next to Blizzzard Beach.
