The Greatest Place in the World (not WDW) Day 3 Fave Rides - Done!
3.3.19
Darren and I were awake at 2.00. Darren got up but I tried reading and sleeping a bit more but gave up at 6.00. Darren sorted the Internet by reading the management file - why did we not think of that last night? We had been given the wrong password. We unpacked, had breakfast and were out of the door for 7.30. We were so excited to see our first hot air balloons, particularly as we saw one land. Fortunately the traffic was ok this year - we used Old Lake Wilson Road thanks to Tigger's Friend's recommendation last year. We called at All Sports as we had a throw away booking to enable us to get FPs at 60 days, new magic bands and free parking. There was a mix up about parking when the CM told us the free parking had been stopped. We quickly googled, found out this wasn’t true and went back to the desk to be told we just needed to use our magic bands now. We were at Epcot in time to hear the opening welcome and headed straight for Soarin - it only took 20 minutes in Standby and was as good as ever. We then moved onto the Pixar Film Festival as Matt and I had enjoyed this last year. Darren and Alix watched it for the first time and we all enjoyed it. We had a short walk around World Showcase but it wasn’t open yet so we called into the fab Club Cool for a refreshing drink or two. We browsed the shops before we left around 11.00. We went to Publix and were pleased to pick up plenty of vegetarian food. We had lunch on the deck and it felt so good to be home. Last year I had wanted to book a holiday somewhere else but now I was so pleased we didn’t go anywhere else. We spent the afternoon swimming and playing games in the pool and the games room until we tired Darren out. We arrived at AK as the sun was setting and it was such a beautiful night with a lovely, refreshing breeze. Safaris was up first and standby was showing 20 minutes but our FP took 20 minutes. It was good to see so many animals wandering the savannah. We then headed to Everest, enjoying the beautiful park as it was lighting up. We all enjoyed Everest despite the FP picture - think we'd forgotten where the camera was so made sure we didn’t make this mistake when we rode again during the holiday. I’m used to Everest now so felt fine but Darren felt nauseous and had to have a sit down. We went for a stroll and found a lovely little stall with lots of Asian and zen things - I have my eye on a tea pot, t shirts, scarves, and crystal bonsai. And of course we all loved FoP - this is how excited everyone was. We agreed that it is the breathing banshee that makes it so good. Unfortunately Darren was a bit nauseous again and fatigue was setting in so we decided to call it a day as it had been such a good day. Back home we had a quick snack and were in bed by 9.00. It felt sooooo good to have done my 2 favourite rides on our first day.

Your photos are absolutely stunning! I love the one of Epcot with the monorail and reflection. I reckon you should be selling that back to Disney for them to use in their promotional material. A good day.

Only just found this trip report but echo what has already been said regarding the stunning photos... Not sure how you have managed those on the safari - mine are always a distant blur and I'm saying "well I think that was an elephant"
