I wasn't suggesting you should, just that you could.

I for one am happy (ok not happy but accepting) of the rule of 6 and have problems with those who don't abide by it

Fair point. Maybe you have hit the nail on the head, the issue with the rules is that there are easy options to take to get around them and therefore they will not acheive the desired outcomes.

Surely it is common sense?
We're talking about necessary childcare in order to enable people to go to work. You do not need to provide essential childcare to enable someone to work.
Surely it couldn't be clearer. I'm sorry but I think it's very fair unless you're suggesting people who don't work should be allowed to mix and socialise while those who work shouldn't? Now that wouldn't make sense.

I think people are being a bit harsh

I can see why the OP is upset .. sheís obviously close to her grandchild and now canít see her for however long

I am fortunate mine lives with us & we see her all the time , if she didnít thereís not much chance Iíd go weeks abs not see her..

Obviously itís not ideal for the OP personally, thatís fully understandable but rules cannot be individually set unfortunately.

We are in a very different situation our gds and his dad live with us his mum has him at her parents house one night a week ( due to her very very complicated health needs )
Itís allowed because of health care agency involvement
And yes her mum has had curtain twitchers but our HDís and his mum need the time to keep their relationship in the current time

Children with parents who live apart were always allowed to stay in both households even when lockdown was at its tightest. Even without agency involvement.
Let em twitch.
I have gone weeks without seeing mine face to face and expect to again in the coming weeks After some summer respite , we keep in touch with video chats, phone calls etc. Not ideal but safer for all.

Makes you wonder why she bothered having three if itís not fair to have to manage all three all day , Times I think I live in a very different world to some others

As far as your title goes I donít think childcare arrangements are unfair or donít make sense. I think their totally fair and are clear as day.

That does not mean you wonít miss your grandchildren, I know I would in your position ☹️ But I do think the reasons are valid. Less contact with others, less possibility of spreading virus.
