Another day when everyone knew where they were when they heard the terrible news.

Yes I remember! Not that soppy a person usually but my son was almost a year old and I just felt for the princes, not Charles, he was let off the hook! She would be 60 this year! However, i know the papperazi shouldn’t have been hounding them but if she had had a seat belt on she might still be here!

The night before, we were with friends watching a video - the film version of 'Evita'. Looking at the hysterical scenes of mourning after Eva Peron's death in that film, we commented that we could never imagine people reacting in a similar way in Britain.

we were in tenerife on holiday, the hotel had such a strange feeling to it that day and the flags outside were put at half mast.

I was in the kitchen and DS2 came running down the stairs to tell me.
I didn’t believe him so he went and put the TV on to show me.

Was heading to an early shift when it came on the radio, really sad.

We were in Paris at the time, it's my OH birthday on the 30th August and we had gone to DLP and Paris for his birthday.

I was heavily pregnant. DH owned a newsagent and he came in with all the papers with it on the headlines. I didn’t believe him till he handed me the paper.

The following weekend was the funeral and my cousins wedding. That was surreal. Driving to the wedding listening to the funeral procession on the radio.

My sister and I were just collecting her car from the station as we’d been out in London with her husband and some friends the night before so we’d got a taxi home. Couldn’t believe what they were saying on the radio and wanted to be able to rewind it.

It’s also 17 years today since my Dad passed away unexpectedly 😢
