Mobile To bubble or not to bubble night flight

Hi,
I have booked Virgin bubble seats on the LGW to MCO leg of the trip but coming back we need to sleep. Have any of you got any recommendations of upstairs or downstairs and any seat areas?

We were in the bubble on way back. Adults didn’t sleep but the kids did and I had no one in the next two seats on my row of three so they had space to lay down.

Dunno about the downstairs but I will find out in May as we weren’t lucky enough to get bubble in time.

We flew upstairs on a night flight, was one of the best nights sleep I’ve had. Think it was because it’s quieter and smaller up there so less disturbance.

its definitely quieter up there in the Bubble, so if you struggle to sleep in normal economy, you may consider it worth the money to pay for the bubble seats.

We flew back in Dibbers row in the bubble and was not impressed as the crew tended to gather there during the fight to have a natter and were very noisy. May be ok further forward though as it is generally quieter up there.

I can’t sleep anywhere on the plane but my kids always seem to sleep well (better) in the bubble. That said they sleep in downstairs seats too. I tend to think you either can or can’t settle to sleep on plane seats. It is quieter up there again I find it pretty chilled downstairs on a night flight as well. So no help to you at all! I won’t pay the extra now for the bubble but I’m claustrophobic so I don’t like it up there anyway. My family prefer it.

Thank you for everyone’s views so far. Also what about order of leaving off the plane. I read that the bubble was first but a couple of people have now said last. What are your experiences?

Bubble is off after Upper and usually downstairs PE, never heard of it being last. Remember there are also PE seats in the bubble in front of the EC seats so they wont empty it after the rest of the plane. We have bubble EC seats both ways in Feb 2020.
