Alton towers for the larger lady

i am planning a short break to Alton Towers in the summer, can anyone tell me what the seats on the rides are like, i know at wdw my size is no problem (22) but do the rides at AT accommodate the larger sizes. I don't want to go then have to suffer the embarrassment of not being able to get on anything!

I went this weekend. Went on Rita, Hex, Nemesis, 13, Runaway Mine Train. The only one I actually struggled with was Nemesis. I'm a size 18. Once I was wedged in my seat, I was too embarrassed to ask to move to a bigger seat (not that I knew there was one). I just wiggled a bit and kind of sat a bit at an angle. on Hex, the bar comes down very tight which you can ask to be loosened. It's not too bad, especially if you are expecting it. I didn't go on Oblivion, Spinball, Air, Submission so can't comment on those ones I'm afraid.
Get to 13 before 10am when the ride opens. It has been experiencing massive problems and has only been working for a couple of hours a day. When I got there at 9.35 there was already a queue but I went on as a single rider and was first on, along with other single riders so if there are only a few of you and you get there for the first ride of the day, you should be able to get on together!
It's a fantastic ride so enjoy. Have a brilliant time. It's improved so much from years gone by.

i'm afarid 13 isn't that big bum friendly. but it has a lap bar not over the shoulder, so you can adjust. i'm a 14, so was ok, but i could see larger people having a bit of a squeeze in...my hubby wasn't even allowed on it cos he's too tall! the height max in 1.96 metres... so he had to do the walk of shame off the ride

I would deffo say to avoid Ripsaw.
I remember watching it last year {my DS loves to see everyone get soaked} and they had to remove a larger lady off the ride as the over shoulder part wouldn't connect with the fasten safety part and she didn't look like she was any bigger than an 18. The poor woman looked mortified, but looking at those seats they do look really really tiny. I'm a 16 and I wouldn't even chance it

Forgot to say, a few rides not all do have the seat checkers before you que. I know Air and Rita have them, not sure about the others.

Either way you'll have a great time there x
