Worth mentioning that e subway is only about $30 for a week pass! We were in NY for a week and probably sided about $80 worth of subway but only paid for the pass :-)

Here is the food tour link - we did the "original Greenwich Village" which was just brilliant. We are hoping to do the Meatpacking / Chelsea one in August

Just remembered these two articles from Trip Advisor which we found really useful.
The first is a guide to using the subway, the second is how to get to the Brooklyn Bridge from the various lines/stations. HTH.

We just got back from NYC on Thur...we were there with a 5 & 7 year old... ! Two of our fav restaurants were TAO...asian cuisine and the Loeb boat house central park...really good food! the kids loved both!
