The Incredibles take a vacation - Feb 2020- Day 4 Epcot (Garden Grill)
We had a bit of a gentler start to the day and were feeling a little tired from the preceding busy days. On the way out we grabbed some pastries from the Mara for breakfast. We were picking a car up from Dolphin, so Alamo sent a bus to take us over there. We left the car there for the day and got the friendship boat over to Epcot.
We were a little ahead of schedule, so there was time to meet Minnie just as we entered through the international gateway. We then stopped off to paint a few squares on one of the hoarding postcards for the art festival. It was soon time for our early lunch ADR at Garden Grill. The Land felt quite dated, as did garden grill- the seating was so low down that it was quite uncomfortable. We were served quite quickly and the food was all fine. The kids loved meeting all of the characters. Our first fast pass was The seas with Nemo and after that we went over to turtle talk with Crush. We were so full from lunch, that these slower paced attractions were welcome. Our fast pass for soarin’ had opened, but we managed to squeeze in Living with the land first as it was such a short wait. Then on to Soarin’. This was Violet’s favourite of everything so far. It really is a nice, uplifting ride. As soon as we were off, our fast pass for Spaceship Earth had opened. Dash really enjoyed this one. Once we had tapped in, I got a fast pass for Figment (trippy) and afternoon that one for Mission Space. We had to do Green mission with Dash. Whilst we were in the queue he was apprehensive about it, but he was so sweet and brave. He absolutely loved it once we were on and was buzzing once we came off! We wondered over to the world showcase and into Mexico for the three cabilleros. Then it was time to suck up the lack of fast pass and joint the 80min Frozen ever after queue. We got drinks and snacks first. It was long, but we were actually off within an hour. It was ok, but I think the massive queue made me feel like it should’ve been more. We enjoyed Epcot, but it definitely felt more retro than futuristic. Before leaving Epcot we had a meander around the world and got dinner at Katsura grill. It was quite good and made a change from chips and stuff. We had a stroll along the boardwalk which was lovely, but decided against the plan of renting a Surrey bike as Mr I’s hamstrings had been playing up this week. Didn’t want to risk putting him out for the rest of the trip. We had a booking for a fireworks cruise from the Yacht club and met up with the lovely Dibbers Michelle and John who joined us for this. First we went over to watch the stars wars and fantasmic shows at Hollywood Studios and then back over to the Epcot lake for Epcot forever. We really enjoyed them and Dash was particularly wowed. Definitely a highlight and well worth doing. Dash was struggling to stay awake now, but it was only a short walk back to Dolphin to the car and we were soon back in the room and settled.
