Florida 2018 - Promises made and promises delivered - Day 0 - Pre Travel Day

Day 0 – the pre-travel travel day (Short section!)

So the decision had been made to fly from Heathrow to MIA and then on to MCO on the first full day of school holidays (July 26th 2018).

We had decided to stay at a serviced apartment near Heathrow the night before the flight and on our way from picking up Niff from home we had agreed to meet my daughter (Charlotte AKA CW –19 at the time we travelled) and her BF (Aaron) so we could have a pub meal prior to Niff, Caj and I disappearing east on the M4 to our serviced apartment.

So by way of an intro – my first photo. Left to Right – Niff,Caj,BB,CW and Aaron. Me thinks Niff looks a tad excited!
CW and Aaron didn’t join us for this holiday.

Having had a lovely meal with CW and Aaron we said our goodbyes and headed east towards the serviced apartment. Yes, this was more expensive than a Premier Inn, but it gave us space. From memory it was on the warm side and none of us slept brilliantly but I suspect that was probably the excitement kicking in.

I think we bought some drinks to celebrate our impending adventure and spent some of the time “cross packing” in case we lost any of the suitcases. This is a Caj thing – I am fortunate enough to have never lost a suitcase on my travels…so far!

Here are some photos of our serviced appartment. If the need arose and the budget permitted I would do this again. Not all serviced apartments allow for one nights rental but this one did and it was about a 10 minute drive to long term parking.
