Hmm, most annoying as we've always used this facility...

Ah great, more price hikes...

The business route layouts are 335 seats, with 100 of those being first or PE. Leisure layout will be close to 400

A350 is also a lot more economical.

Do you know if Gatwick is getting all leisure or a mix?

Economical it may be but the savings prob won't be passed down!

400 on an Airbus reminds me of the old Airtours Airbus where they moved the toilets into the crew rest area 'downstairs' and shrunk the gally, along with a 29" seat pitch, it was bloody awful.

I am not looking forward to this new seating plans, narrow seats narrow isles etc, I want my 747's back.

I drove past St Athan, S wales on Saturday and you can see a Virgin 747 waiting to be scrapped there, made me very sad.

As I said before the A350-1000 can carry max of 480, so 400 would be well within this max sardine configuration.
I would expect the Gatwick planes to be leisure config.

I went on one of these Airtours planes many years ago! I think it was our 2004 trip, I loved the toilets, it was like a washroom that you had to go down stairs in to, whenever I have told friends about it they look at me me like I have dreamed it!

That's the one, a poor Cabin crew had to stay down there the entire time to make sure there were only the amount of passengers they had oxygen masks for down there, that's not a nice job, sitting by 6 smelly loos for 9 hours

That was me - I was that poor CC haha. When we used to turn up for the pre-flight briefing we always used to try and sweet talk the Cabin Manager so we didn't have to do it haha. It wasn't the most awful thing in the world but god the overnight flights home used to feel like an eternity once everyone was asleep

I feel for you, I gave the lady a book to read once I felt so sorry for her. down there. I wonder what happened to those planes, in this day of cram them in I am surprised we have not seen more of them

Aww that crew member will have been made up with your kindness. It was always such a relief when nice people came down and said hello.

The planes went over to Thomas Cook when they bought out My Travel and were still in service up to their collapse. I imagine now they are dotted around UK airports just sitting gathering dust, I know theres certainly quite a few TCX aircraft parked up at Manchester Airport.
