Lallan's Family Vacay March/April 2017 Live-ish! Day 8 - Animal Kingdom & Steak n' Shake 31.3.17

Day 8 - Animal Kingdom & Steak n' Shake 31.3.17

Walked - don't know, forgot to put tracker on!

Spent - only $20!

We set an alarm this morning as my mum and dad had booked on to the 8am Disney transfer bus from their hotel and we'd agreed to meet them at 9am at Animal Kingdom. The boys struggled to get up this morning. This was the first morning we had woke up where it was really dull and windy. On the drive in there was the first spit of rain we had seen all holiday. It lasted all of 5 minutes and was off by the time we had parked up and got out the car! It was around 8:45am and the queues to get in the park were really long. My mum and dad spotted us in line and cut in beside us. We got in and hot foot it all the way round to Africa for our 9am FP for Kilimanjaro Safari. Every time we've been on this ride in the past we've struggled to spot many animals as they were all hiding from the sunshine. What a difference riding st this time in the morning...we saw everything! It was great

We came off and went round Gorilla Falls Exploration trail.

It was time for our next FP on Expedition Everest so off we went to Asia. DH and I sat with DS3 while my mum and dad rode with DS1&2. We had taken snacks in with us for breakfast so we sat and had something to eat while we waited. Here's DS3 in his lion themed attire:

We gave DS3 to my mum and dad who took all the boys round to the Boneyard play area in DinoLand while DH and I went on Everest.

Next up was our 11.30am FP for Dinosaur. DS3 wasn't very happy on this ride but he made it

That was our 3 prebooked fast passes used up so time for another. We got primeval whirl. DH sat off with DS3. I don't particularly like this ride to be honest. I came off feeling battered and bruised and wished I had sat it out!

Next was the 1pm show of Finding Nemo The Musical. I love this show, it's brilliant!

After this we literally ran back to Africa to make the 2pm show of Festival of the Lion King. We just made it and we were the last to be let in and ended up in great seats at the front on the floor of the warthog section. As always, the show was fantastic. The singers are all so good!

I managed to grab another FP for Its Tough To Be A Bug but when we got there the ride was down temporarily and the cm didn't know how long it would last. It was 3pm by this point and it had gotten very hot. Everyone was feeling tired and hungry so we decided we'd done enough of AK and left the park. Got a token tree pic before we left:

We agreed on Steak n Shake for a late lunch. We all had pretty much the same as last time accept I went back to my favourite burger, the Jamaican Jerk. Mum had a turkey club sandwich and dad had a taco salad. He highly recommends this!

After kids eat free was deducted and also happy hour, half price shakes, it cost a total of $34.80 for the 7 of us. My dad insisted on paying. Really great price and again really great food

We left my mum and dad and they made their way over to Vineland outlets while we went back to the villa for some rest/pool time.

DH and the boys were watching a movie inside and I lay out by the pool and caught up with the darts I had missed from the day before on my tablet. I thought my darts on the big screen last week in the bowling alley was good, but having this view as a back drop is even better

I went outside the pool lanai and watched the sun set over the lake. It was just beautiful!

Tomorrow's plan is shopping and then Old Town for Saturday night classic car rally!
