Day 10 Move to Boardwalk Villas

Today was a bit more fun packed as Storm Dorian had gone leaving fabulous blue skies and we were due to move to Boardwalk Villas. We had rented 2 nights via Dave's Vacation Villas and paid a fraction of the cost that we would have paid going direct with Disney and we got a Boardwalk view room too.

We headed off early and parked up at the Boardwalk as the plan for the day was Epcot then Magic Kingdom.

We left our little cases with Bell Services and walked over to International Gateway having stopped for a few photos before. I called at the restroom before we went into Epcot and I had an update od MDE saying our room was ready.

We had a few fastpasses booked and Paul had agreed to go on the Orange version of Mission Space. He says he doesn't like rides that spin but said it just felt a bit weird rather than spinning although he did have to have a quick sit down afterward.

As you can see from the above photo, the park was really quiet as Storm Dorian had kept most people away. Most of the rides were walk on which we took advantage off, going on Soarin a couple of times and Test Track with hardly any waits.

We stopped off at Starbucks and the sat in Electric Umbrella to drink our drinks before going over to World Showcase after saying 'Hello' to Dame Judy first.

Starting at Mexico first I fancied a margarita and went inside for an avocado version which was lovely although very strong. Paul doesn't really like cocktails so it was just for me

We were all a bit peckish and didn't want a quick service meal so decided to grab a couple of pretzels from the stand in Germany and Paul had a beer. I saved some seats by the water and waited for them. When they returned I realised that we should have shared a quick service meal between us as the pretzels were $10 each and weren't that nice as they were very salty.

We were all ready to check out the room and resort by this point so we sauntered back.

Beth wanted an icecream which we got from the Boardwalk (Ample Hills Creamery I think it is called) which was really scrummy.

We got our cases and went to the room, me calling at the store on the way for some headache tablets and encountering the world's slowest salesperson (again!). He was an old guy and really lovely but he was chatting to the person in front for ages about a parcel being delivered and I was wanted to take a tablet and lie down for an hour.

I can't recall the room number but it was on the ground floor of the resort but because of the layout was above the general store called Screen Door. It was really a great view from our balcony.

After a lie down me and Paul went for a beer at the EPSN club and Beth stayed in the room. Paul was disappointed there was no guiness on draught so had a bud light, as did I. We stayed there for another and it was fab just to sit there at the bar chilling out and watching a baseball match of which we had no idea what was going on!

We were due to go to Raglan Road and then Magic Kindgom for the evening so went back the to room, got changed and caught the bus to Disney Springs which we only had to wait a few minutes for. We had a quick wander round the shops and checked in and were escorted in straight away. When we checked in I said we didn't mind waiting a while for a good table and were shown to a fab one straight away. Again, the storm had kept people away.

I had a gin and tonic.

I had never tried scallops before so tried that with gnocchi and it was then I realised that I didn't really like scallops

Beth had the cottage pie

And Paul had the miniscule fish and chips - when we visited last time the portion was massive.

The gin had a bit of weird taste to it (this was before I had the food) so I decided to have a white wine.

We sat and watched the band and dancers which were really good and decided to stay there for a while rather than go to Magic Kingdom

Me and Beth shared the bread and butter pudding but it was far too much even between 2. Paul just had a latte.

I really liked the glass my wine was in so went to the store next door but they didn't have any but Paul did buy a t shirt and Raglan Road pint glass.

We went back to the Boardwalk (we had to wait ages for a bus) and sat on the balcony watching the fireworks from Magic Kingdom.
