Yep - I would go away for two nights if the flight wasn't too long. Why not?

Yes, I have done a lot of trips for two nights, early morning flight out and late flight back and it always feels like a break

Done NYC for 4 nights as a holiday, Dubai for 3 nights a few times as work trips, and several day-trips to France/Belgium (both work and pleasure).

Would prefer to do more than 2 nights for sure, but wouldn't turn down 2 I suppose if it was cheap enough.

We are going to New York for 4 nights next year so it doesn’t seem that crazy to me!

Yes I would and often do..in fact Bruges tomorrow until Friday.
The key is getting an early flight out and latest back to maximise time but even for a four hour flight I'd do it

If I could get there by lunch time and the return flight is evening then yes. Maximum flight time for me would be 3 hours.

irrespective of the occasion? , say a hen night/50th trip to tenerife you would rule this out based on an additional 1.5 or so hours ?

Absolutely, it can take 4 hours to drive to London in bad traffic for me but wouldn’t hesitate to go there for a weekend so why not fly 4 hours?

I have been to Gran Canaria for the weekend many times and would go again in a flash!

I would go for 2 nights if the flight was under 2 hours.
I personally wouldn't go to Tenerife for 2 nights as its just over a 4 hour flight.
