Any cricut users out there that can advise?

Hey Dibbers, I’ve been toying with getting one of these for years, but haven’t. However now I think I’m ready to dip my toes!
But help is required!

Mainly thinking of T-shirts, glasses, light boxes etc for family but like the idea of doing a wider variety of things if I can get the hang of it.

I want to read up on the basics first and get some samples as I know I’ll lose heart if I get one with no idea of what I’m doing.

So, any recommendations on some books? I’ve seen a Jennifer maker online guide (but would prefer a hard copy)
Or a cricut ultimate 11in 1 by K Allen. Are any of these any good, or any other recommendations?

I’ve discounted the Joy, and have seen a rose/champagne model (think this has now been superseded with a newer model but this one is more within my budget) - is there any advantage of getting the newer model?

Where’s the best place to get sample bundles -such as different coloured vinyl packs. T shirt transfers.

Any other tips? Any advice greatly received.

There’s a Facebook site called ‘UK Cricut Creators’ & a YouTube channel called ‘Crifty Crafty’ (run by the same people) which are great for getting advice.

I have the Maker which I use for cake toppers, layered pictures, glass etching, T-shirts, cards, etc. I hadn’t planned to get one as it was a present from my husband during lockdown, but I really enjoy using it. I recently bought the Joy as a bundle was on the Cricut site for a stupidly low price of around £70, I’ll just use that for cards.

Ooh great, I’ll have a look at those.
Where do you buy your supplies for card making?

I have card from Cricut, the Works, Hobbycraft and the Range which has cut really well, also a few places online including Amazon.

I’ve popped into hobby craft and picked up a leaflet on cricut.
Apparently they do a one 2 one, or a beginners workshop.
Has Anyone been? Are they any good or better off sticking to YouTube etc?
