Birthday cake at character dining

Does anyone know that if you pay for the birthday cake at character dining, e.g. Plaza Gardens, do they bring the cake out with a happy birthday song which the characters will join in on, and take a photo?

We booked a cake for my son in the Disneyland hotel restaurant and he had Captain Hook and locket sing happy birthday to him and take pictures, this was a while ago though. How 5th birthday and he’s just turned 13!

We did one at Cafe Mickey. We were upstairs. A cast member got the whole floor to clap and bought the cake out along with Goofy.. This is going back a few years too mind :-) Cost then was E25

I've seen it done at Inventions, all the characters come over with the cake and the CMs sing. Which is nice, but when you are paying big bucks for a buffet with plentiful desserts, it must sting to have to pay again for a cake.

I had one at Cafe Mickey, in the days when it wasn't a prix fixe meal, so we just had a starter and main course, and then paid for the cake. However, it was an ice cream cake that fed 10 people, so basically we gave most of it away to the tables around us.

The other cake they have now is kind of a mousse, again it doesn't really last longer than the meal, and I've seen it feed four hungry adults.
