Talking A Dream is a Wish Your Heart (disease) Makes - Florida Sept '22

We have had a pretty standard family Florida trip planned for the past bazillion years (pre-covid), but a series of unfortunate events has led us to here!

Background

Originally my dad had booked a two week holiday for him (54), his wife(54), my brother(20), my boyfriend(23), and me (23). My dad had an angiogram and found out the blood vessels in his heart are barely holding it together - so now he can't go on holiday and needs a bunch of surgery!

This throws a spanner in the works since our holiday revolved around driving places and no one else is able to drive. We're still in the process of requesting refunds and utilising our travel insurance but there's a lot of plans to be unravelled.

Cue my dad calling and suggesting that just my boyfriend and I go - so that we can use our Disney and Universal passes. Since the flights and villa were booked as a package we've spent the past 48 hours frantically arranging flights (now flying with Virgin), travel to the airport (Megabus at 2am ) and hotels (TBD)

Starring:
Me (Lucy): Avid Disney fan, Florida holiday pro, travel-sickness champion

Kie (Boyf): Still in Disney bootcamp, never been to FLorida, just along for the ride

(I'm new to posting here so I can't post pics yet but I'll get it figured out by the actual hols)

the plan

flying: early september LHR -> MCO with Virgin, returning a fortnight later
staying:2 nights at Cabana Bay Beach Resort - the rest TBD
Booked: 2 week Disney pass, 2 day/3park Universal pass
yet to do: Work out travel around Orlando without a car, find a/some hotel(s) for a reasonable price - likely on I Drive

Fingers crossed that we manage to organise everything and Kie gets a good first Disney experience!
