We have done both and the additional nights with FF seem the best option. We do also have the VIP tour which we do on our first HHN visit. Then the additional FF nights, we choose a different holding pen (stay & scream) each night and try to get three or four houses done each night

Dh and I will be there the same week, Bellasmummy. (We are leaving the children home and getting a cheeky week away. Never done it before. Should be interesting.)
We will have one night of HHN and our plan is to use our annual passes the day and do stay and scream. I have also read that it is a big advantage. I don't know if we'll get to all ten houses, as we won't have express, but there is a good chance we will be okay with that. This is our first time and we are okay with not getting to do everything. If we enjoy the experience we will do it again another year (with some of our children).

I agree about Sapphire Falls. In February we went from Sapphire Falls to Hard Rock and I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. Even my 12 and 16 year old shared that the SF was a better experience. (Don't get me wrong: we did enjoy the express passes that came with the HRH stay! )

This is also our plan for a Wednesday in October. (I also read the stay and scream tips on Orlando Informer and fingers crossed we won't need express passes.)

Yes certainly doable. In some way doing stay and scream is better than express passes, the first few will be walk ons, the next couple will be short. Do as much as you can at the start, when it gets busy start doing the scare zones, grab a snack, watch some shows, then finish off any remaining houses and revisit any that you want to do again.
