Universal Early Entry Strategy
Hi all.
We’ve got 1 full day at US & IOA on Saturday. We’re staying at Adventura so have early entry, can anyone kindly give any advice on what ride to hit first. We’re looking to get on Velocicoaster & Hagrids at some point during the day so don’t know if it’s best to hit first or last thing ? Thanks for any tips ! |

If you go straight to Velocicoaster you will more or less get a walk on, hagrids is often not open for the early morning so you will still end up queuing

Try and get to IOA for an hour before EE. Go to Hagrid first and then Velocicoaster.
Sometimes Hagrid can have a delayed opening if that happens I suggest Velocicoaster and jump in the queue for Hagrid before the park closes. |

We were up super early with jet lag, we were on site and were at the gates for Islands opening. Headed straight to Hagrids and we queued for about 90 mins. We rode Velocicoaster later the same day and it was only a 35 min wait. We were there for five days and didn’t see Hagrid drop below about 90 mins the whole time. Although on our last day there my son absolutely begged to ride it again, reluctantly I agreed to a two hour wait but we were on and off in 55 mins!

On Saturday we got to Hagrids at 0804 and it was a 2hr queue - we ended up not riding it at all as felt it was too hot to queue for that long.
I think you need to be there much before 8 to not have a crazy wait.

With early opening (at HRH) we should be able to get less than 60 mins for hagrid at rope drop, shouldn’t we?

What time to people suggest getting to the park if you have early entry and want to ride Hagrids. Is 7.45 early enough?
